Here are some closer shots (we'll just go around the room):
When you first walk in the fridge is to the right with the oven and microwave right there. Nice cabinets above both. And they go all the way to the ceiling. No more fur down waste. You might have noticed in that first picture there is a step stool at the end of the counter. The downside of cabinets that go all the way up is that I myself do not go all the way up. I, in fact, can only reach the bottom shelf. Hence the stool.
I wanted some glass doors, so here they are. That corner piece is angled, so it adds a little more space. Along with tall cabinets (with adjustable shelves) on the bottom.
Sink. You can see in this one that the cabinet doors have some stain to distress them a bit.
On the other side is some open shelving and a view of the cooktop and the high bar.
Another view of the low bar. It is so wide, so it makes a good prep area, serve area or eating area. This is also probably the best view I can get of the counters. We went with a black granite that was antiqued. You can see a lot veins, but it reads black. Also the antiqued finish is more matte so it doesn't seem so dressy. Finally, this is the backsplash. Greenish khaki with some slate blue glass subway tiles.
You might have also noted that the lighting issue has been resolved. Ample lighting and centralized switches.
Ta-da. So vastly different. We are loving it.
